Dark and Lovely Red Hot Rhythm Product Review!!!!

Oh How It's Been A While! Knitting & Crocheting Update!!!

Well hello there!  I know that it's been a pretty long time since I've been here but life has been pretty busy lately.  I tend to update my youtube a lot more frequently than my blog so if you want more of an update be sure to check my youtube channel out.

So to sum a VERY LONG story up in a sentence, we made a VERY long move back in August which explains why I haven't been here and by the grace of God we made it to where we are safely.

But enough of that!  I wanted to write to you today to share a few pictures with you of my latest projects that I completed within the last couple of weeks.  Both patterns I used were found on ravelry.com and were completely free.

So the first baby blanket that I finished late last month is called Shadow Cables and I found it at this site http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/shadow-cable-baby-blanket

I would have finished this project back in July but due to us having to move my knitting time was almost non existent.

And my crochet project that I  finished this morning for baby is the granny square blanket and I also found the instructions at this link
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/granny-square-how-to

Now this is one project that I VERY proud of because if you know me then you know that I usually don't have the patience to due multiple granny squares for one project and lead alone piece them together but I did!  If you're on ravelry.com the extra details of what I did, and what i plan to dofor this afghan, is found here at this link  http://www.ravelry.com/projects/myAdore/granny-square-how-to

Well I need to sign off here but I plan on making a video to share more info on this project so be blessed!

My Hair Growth Progress!

I cannot believe that it's been a little over 17 month into me restarting my natural hair care journey but since it has been I've decided to try different methods of protective styling for my hair:-)
I actually did an experiment and the the picture doesn't do my results justice but I'll try to record the process of this hairstyle sometime soon.

MY ROCKIN AFRO TUTORIAL!!!

BERNAT BABY BLANKET AND BERNAT PATTERN REVIEW!!!

Well good morning!  It's been a good little while since I've updated you on my knitting progress so I figured that I would try to do so this morning.  Everything that I'm working with is mentioned in the video below so be sure to check it out!

One thing that I will write on here is that I really really enjoy working with this yarn and I'm excited to work with it more in the future.  If you're a crafty person like myself, what are you working on at the moment?

Knitting with Bernat Baby Blanket yarn!

I couldn't find my cable needle so I used my stitch holder instead:-)

Good afternoon! It's been a pretty hot and humid week out this way and I've been trying my best to keep my mind busy that way I can gracefully survive this summer.  So I decided to try to knit up a blanket for my nephew with a yarn that I had never tried to work with before and once I was able to really inspect the yarn I fell completely in love with it and pretty much decided to keep this blanket for our baby instead lol.   Yes my nephew got jacked BUT I do plan on making him one just like it so all is well and who knows I might just change my mind again and give this one to him and make another one for my son .

But onto what I'm doing with this project!  I've been on a knitting role for a while now and I have no plans of changing that anytime soon.  The pattern that I'm working with is on the Bernat company and I found the link to the pattern on http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/shadow-cable-baby-blanket
The name of this pattern is called Shadow Cable Baby Blanket and it calls for extra bulky yarn and a size US 11-8.0 knitting needles.

So far I love the pattern and I love the yarn because it works up so quickly, but I do have to be honest and say that it is a bit of work working with this type of yarn.  But it may be due to the type of needles that I'm using.

So this is my latest project and once I'm further along I'll be back to share more:-)

There's A Human In My Belly!!

Yup my husband and I are growing another healthy human being in my belly and I couldn't be anymore excited than what I already am at the moment!
Was our little person a surprise? YES and now I'm being so impatient because I just want my due date to get here already so I can just look at our little creation count all their fingers and toes and just love on our little miracle:-)
Did we announce our surprise to the world?  NO! LOL  The only people he and I told were our parents and our Pastor and that was mainly because we just wanted to enjoy the moment for ourselves for as LONG as possible and we're glad that we did it that way this time around.  But with that said,  God is good!!!

Naturally Silk Elemnts Whipped Curl, Deep Nourshing Conditioner and Leave-In Conditioner Cream: My thoughts!!

So I just finished a really long review of these products and it will be on youtube in a short while but I wanted to come here to let ya'll know that these items are the TRUTH!    At least for me they are because they all moisturized and softened my hair to the max.  What made them even more awesome to use are the facts that they were all under $10 and my husband loved the smell of my hair after I used them so I think it's safe to say that I will be using these products again.  The only negative things I can say about two of the three is that the deep conditioner doesn't smell all that wonderful and the whipped cream FLAKES BUT it still left my hair feeling and looking good.  Have you tried any of these products out and if you have what are your thoughts?

One of my favorite things this summer!

This seasoning is the truth!  My favorite way to use this is to sprinkle a little bit of this on my watermelon and then I enjoy!  It taste just like the lolipops I used to get from the store and ice cream trucks:-D

What's you favorite snack for this season?

Beloved Blue Is A Go!

Good morning readers:-)  It has been a good little bit since I've knitted something that I was actually excited to knit so I'm very happy to share this picture with you.  We have a total of 4 babies coming into the family and out of the four babies that are coming I have the time to knit baby blankets for at least three of them.  If you've read previous post about other knitting projects that I've done then this pattern my seem familiar to you, and that's because I actually started this pattern a while back but decided to frog it due to me not having enough yarn.  So here I am trying this pattern out again and it's coming out beautifully.

Due to my Leisure Arts knitting challenge I'm working from Our Best Knit Baby Afghans Book 2 once again and the name of this pattern is called Beloved Blue.  The designer of this pattern is Carol Prior and if you're a beginner knitter then this project could be just for you.  Size 10 circular knitting needles are what I'm using for now and will probably opt for a size down needle for the next afghan I knit up.

If you're knitting anything at the moment what project are you currently working on?

RESHMA HENNA TRIAL 2 PART 2!!!!!!!

Reshma Henna Trial 2 Part 1 On My Natural Hair!!

Hey readers!  I'm back with another video to share with ya'll.  Don't forget to subscribe to my youtube channel if you haven't done so already:-D

Monday, June 9, 2014

Lets do this! I'm loving my natural hair.

So it's about that time again for my to dye my hair with the henna:-)  The first time I applied Reshma Henna to my I didn't prep my hair by washing it but I just started working on my slightly dirty hair and went from there.  After reading a few different people saying that you could get better results with clean hair, I went ahead and tried this process out with freshly washed hair this time around.  I also didn't wait to apply the henna to my hair as long as I did the first time AND I used ALL the henna that I mixed unlike my first time around.

Once again I'm not expecting my hair to look drastically different but I do expect to have somewhat of a decent tent, and I'm looking forward to having a great deep conditioning treatment as well.

I'm back!!! Another Granny Square Blanket Is In The Making!!

Hey readers I am so sorry that I've been MIA for the past two months, but I'm back and I'm going to do my best to keep you guys in the loop as best as I can.

This is another project that I'm currently working on and it's for someone very special in my life.  I'm really excited for them to get to use but, before that time comes, I'm going to keep you guys updated on how this granny square blanket is coming along until it's complete.  There's yet another blanket that I'm working on as well but I'm knitting that one, so once I have an updated picture of that project I will share it with you:-)

Well I didn't come on here to write all too much to you but I did want to update this blog for you so that you know that I'm still around and I'm still very interested in blogging.  Life has just been very busty these last weeks.

So with all that said be blessed and I'll write to you later!

Strawberry Cupcakes With Purple Frosting!!

A friend from high school once told me that there was NOTHING like homemade frosting and at first I just thought they were being super picky.  But after trying a frosting recipe for myself I've also com to realize that homemade frosting tops store bought frosting without a doubt!  Sorry that I haven't been here lately but I'm trying to get back to you on a more regular basis.  What's your favorite dessert to bake?

Easter Shrug Attempt #2.

Good morning readers!  So in a earlier post I mentioned that I was making a shrug for my daughter using a heart lace pattern from youtube.  Well I decided to stop that project one because I didn't like my yarn choice and the second reason being that I kept messing up all over that project so I decided to start all over with a different pattern and yarn all together.

I'm using the Beginner's Guide Knit Stitches book by Leisure arts and the pattern I'm working with is called Zig Zag Eyelets.  The Caron Simply Soft yarn is new to me because I've never used it before but I really really like it so far.

If you're knitting anything at the moment, what are you knitting?

Be Blessed!!

MINI TWIST TIME!!!!!

SOO..My mini twist may not be THAT mini to some but I'm happy that I even attempted this protective hair style at all ya'll, because I really didn't think that I had the patients for it.  One side did end up more shrunken then the other and that was due to the fact that I worked one portion of my twist on extremely wet hair and the other portions of my hair were much dryer by the time I got to them.  What happened to spraying my hair with water?  I still haven't replaced the bottle that my son broke so yeah..but My hair still looks cute though!!  I mainly keep my twist pinned up some kind of way or wrapped under my turban so this style SHOULD last me at least two to three weeks so we will see:-)

What did I use?  I used a leave oil from Garnier Fructis and coconut oil to seal my hair, applied a leave in conditioner, applied castor oil to the large divided sections of hair and then added a generous amount of pure shea butter to the small section of hair that I was getting ready to twist.  Thankfully my hair is still pretty oily so the only thing I really have to do at this point is just add some water.  I don't want to make a video now of how I personally did it because I've only tried this style once and I feel like there's enough great videos about how to achieve this style.  But if enough people request it or I happen to change my mind then I will record a video of my mini twist process:-)

For the mean time check this video out to get more of an insight on how to get this style for yourself.   http://youtu.be/yRGBgVHFwmA

Well I must get going but have a great day and be blessed!!  I'll be back later!!!

How Often SHOULD You Deep Condition Your Hair???

These two products are my deep conditioning staples because they make my hair feel AMAZING!

Well good morning readers and how are you doing this fine blessed morning?  I am pretty good and I wanted to quickly come to you with a quick post asking you how often should you deep condition your hair?

The reason why I wanted to write about this today is because I was reading a hair blog not too long ago, and the topic of the blog was how to take care of different natural hair types.  When it came to reading about my specific hair type, which in my opinion is 4C, they recommended that 4c naturals should keep their hair clean, moisturized, sealed ,conditioned and deep conditioned.  Sounds good enough right?   Well when I took a closer inspection as to how often a 4c natural women should deep condition their hair my mind was kind of blown by their answer.

So what's the suggested amount of times to deep condition 4c natural hair a week? They suggested that a 4C natural gal should deep condition THREE TIMES A WEEK!  Yes you read me correctly, THREE TIMES A WEEK!!!  Now to some this may seem pretty reasonable but for me this seems like a major overkill of the deep conditioning treatment.  Why do I say that for myself?  I say this because I personally tried deep conditioning my hair twice a week last year when I was first restarting my hair care journey, and not only did deep conditioning my hair TWICE that week make my curls limp and sad, but it also made my hair weaker and easier to break.  I've since then stuck to my golden number of 1 deep conditioning treatment a week:-)

So why on earth am I writing all of this to ya'll?  Well I wanted to get my point across that every natural hair woman's journey is going to be quite different from the other, so what may work for that lovely natural haired beauty to my right or left, may or may not work for me.  And that's perfectly okay!!  Am I telling you to not deep condition your hair multiple times a week?  From my experience with trying that on myself I wouldn't suggest it ,BUT YOU KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU SO DO YOU!

When trying to figure out what to do to your hair and how to care for it, look at your hair, feel your hair, learn your hair and assess what your personal hair is going to need.  Need ideas??  Then go on youtube, read different hair blogs,  and /or ask someone you know that will help you for advice.   BUT don't depend on all of these blogs, videos and people to figure out what's best for you and your hair, because you and you alone have the final say in what options will work best for yourself.

I didn't mean to write this much but I just wanted to share with you what I learned over this past year and I hope my lesson will be helpful to the next person who may come across this page.
Be Blessed and Be You!

LEISURE ARTS ELISE KNITTING PATTERN REVIEW!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon readers!  I'm really excited to announce that I'm FINALLY done with my friends' shower gift.  Yes I know that I haven't been working on this baby blanket for all that long but I HATE spending too much time on one project alone.  That's just part of me being impactient and God is still working on me when it comes to that lovely flaw of mine.

So that pattern that I worked with is called Elise and I found this in the Leisure Arts book called "Our Best Knit Baby Afghans Book 2", and even though written pattern became a little boring after a while, it was easy to follow and finish.  If I use this pattern again I'll try to make it a little longer since I choice to cast my work of my knitting needles at 35 inches.

I wanted to make some booties and a hat to go with it but that just isn't an option right now.

All in all I liked this pattern and would recommend this pattern to any beginners that are looking for an extra little challenge.  Well Motherhood is calling so I must depart!

Be Blessed!!!

Things Just Got Real.

Isaiah 53:4-5

Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.  But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

I have to believe that for every unfair, unkind, unjust, and/or mind blowing thing that may happen in this lifetime , God knows and sees all that is happening and as long as we continue to keep our faith in him everything will work out for the best.  These past few weeks have been probably some of the hardest weeks of my entire life, and although I can't really elaborate why at the moment, just take my word that it's been a trying time.

I just feel so out of place and so lost.  Almost like I don't know how to act and I don't know how to feel half the time.  I have my ups and then the reality of what's going on makes its ugly way back into the center my mind.  If only this was all some big fat ugly dream but it isn't but I have to believe that God is going to get us through this. I have to believe that God is going to turn this situation around for HIS glory and not our own.

MY Fabric.com HAUL!!!

Elise Is Still In Progress!

Good morning readers:-)  I wanted to quickly update you on what it is that I'm still knitting at the moment.  I'm working with a pattern called Elise by a designer named Melissa Leapman and she happens to be one of my favorite knitting designers around.  I've used several of her patterns in the past and this particular pattern is one of the most relaxing patterns that I have ever worked with.

I'm using the possibly 4 skeins of the  Bernat baby cordinates yarn and the name of the color is called Playtime, and I'm using size nine circular knitting needles.

IT'S BEEN ALMOST A WHOLE YEAR!!

I cannot believe that it's almost been a whole year since I restarted my haircare journey because time has just flown by.  I'll be doing a recap video of the entire year so stay tuned for that:-)

I wanted to share this picture with you because this was taken on my date night with my fantastic husband and it was my first time using this head wrap.  I can't tell you how happy I am to have picked purchasing the head wraps I did over the wigs.  I still want to get a couple of wigs but they can definitely wait because I'm having way to much fun with the fabric:-)

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Strengthen Reconstructing Butter On Natur...

I absolutely love the butter and I can't wait to get more of it!  Again I purchased the Garnier Fructis butter at Target for $4.99

Those Are Some Pretty Shoes!!!

How on earth can real shoe lover say NO to such a piece of art??!!!  That's EXACTLY what I thought when I stood in the mirror while gazing at my feet in the reflection of the store mirror.  The shoes were a little tight but I knew that once I broke them in they were MEANT for me, and it didn't help that my husband was like "WHY ARE YOU WAITING JUST GET THEM!"And  Lord bless his heart because He knows that if I could have I would have bought 20 pairs of shoes similar to this one but I'm so thankful for these.  Just looking at them makes my heart just a tad bit more happy:-)

And of course I had to share one of my new outfits with ya'll!!  Both the crop top and harem pants are from forever 21 and I'm not sure on the prices of these items but I know that both were under $20!  I'll try to share more with ya'll when I can I promise!!!

Head Wrap Success!!!

Happy Tuesday readers it's great to finally be back to write to you guys and to update ya'll on some of the things that are going on.  Well for starters the pictures that you see above are the pictures of me modeling an head wrap experiment that I did earlier today and relieved to say that I really liked how it came out.  I'm sure that this style isn't anything original but it was the first time that I attempted it it so yay for me!

In a couple of weeks it'll be a whole year that I  restarted my hair care journey and I'm just so excited that for that day to get here because I've been working so hard to take special care of my hair for the past 11 months, and I wanted to prove to myself that I could have long, naturally kinky hair.  I'm not close to the length that I want to reach but I am very pleased with the progress that I've made thus far.

This AMAZING picture here, that was taken by yours truly:-D, is a picture of my brand new guitar that my husband surprised me with from amazon.com  The whole set is called Learning The Guitar For Dummies..or something of that effect and it comes with the hand book on learning the guitar, two guitar picks, an electronic pitch pipe,a soft guitar case and the guitar itself .  Oh and a dvd as well:-)  The whole story behind me relearning the guitar is that I actually learned some of the guitar back in high school and once I  went off to high school, I lost my guitar not long after.  I just recently wanted to pick the guitar back up and once my husband heard about that he went ahead and blessed me with a beginners set.  I'm truly blessed beyond measure and there is no way I can express how grateful I truly am to him.

Well I have one or two more entries to catch you up on so I must sign off here for now!
