The Latest.

Besides my sons sweater that I'm still working on I went ahead and started another baby blanket to add to my collection.  It's called "Maxi Cosi" blanketby maanel and I found this on ravelry.com.  This pattern is super easty to follow and is great for knit beginners.  Here's what I have done so far!  So if you're down to trying a fun simple pattern click on the link and knit away!

Another Blanket is done!

Well the Teddy Blanket that I was working on for almost a whole month is now done and ready to be blocked.  All that there is left to this set will be the booties and baby bear hat.  It's been a long journey but I'm happy to finally be done with this project!

After A Long Day Of Playing Taxi

I'm still here surviving another long day!  Before I head out again for another adventure I wanted to update you on two things that I'm working on at the moment.  The first picture that I'm sharing is the picture of the teddy blanket that I'm knitting up for a friend.  Unlike the last one that I finished this one is a little bit bigger and I might add two crochet rows of shells on the border instead of the one.

The second thing I'm working on is the jacket that I promised to make for my son.  I found this pattern in one of the books that I bought from the art store and the pattern looks to be pretty simple to follow.  Being that the entire jacket is worked up in the seed stitch I decided to make this a dinosaur jacket, due to the fact that the seed stitch reminds of dino scales.  I completed the hood so I'm now working on the front and back part of the jacket and once the entire jacket is complete I'll then work on the spikes:->

UPDATE:I'll be sure to post a picture of the book that I'm working out of for my sons jacket once I get back later on this evening.

But before I sign off here I wanted to wish my husband a WONDERFUL Birthday today!

And Another Set Is Finally Complete!!

Yes I finally completed my third official baby set yesterday afternoon and I'm excited to say that it looks great!  The set consist of the Stylish Squares blanket that I was working on, a simple baby beanie and a pair of booties to go along with it.  I wanted to knit up some mittens as well to add to the set but I just didn't have enough time to spare but I'll try to do so not on this next set I'm completing but maybe the one after that.

What's going on now with the knitting needles?  Well I need to finish the teddy bear blanket that I started a while back and I'm now working on a sweater that I am doing for my son.  It's a pretty simple pattern that I found in a book that I bought at the crafting store.  I don't know the name of the pattern off the top of my head but once I'm working on it I'll be sure to update my blog to let you know the name of the book and the name of the pattern that way you'll know exactly what it is that I'm working on.

Gotta go!

What I've Been Up To Lately.

Well hello there and how are you doing?  Besides the nagging headache that refuses to go away I'm doing alright.  There are several projects that I'm working on now and several that I will be working on in just a couple of weeks.  The two projects that I'm working on at the moment are two lovely baby blankets.  The first one that I'm working on is the Teddy Bear Blanket that I'm making for a friend from church, and the second baby blanket is a cute baby blanket with boxes in the middle. After these blankets are complete I will be working on two things.  1) Baby boys' sweater and 2) The first of the four Halloween costumes that I have to get done so these two months will be pretty interesting for me.

When it comes to these two blankets there are several things that I did a little differently from the original patterns that were written.  For the teddy blanket I decided to add in extra seed stitches both on the outside of the blanket and on in between the bear motifs because the first blanket that I did came out a bit smaller than what I thought it was.

Now for the stylish squares blanket the pattern calls for five rows of seed stitches on the outside of the blanket so while I have five seed stitches on the sides of the blanket I only knitted in three, which isn't a big deal but it's something that I did differently

Now when it comes to the pattern for the Stylish Squares blanket I thought that the overall idea of the pattern was great but I found the written pattern itself very confusing and couldn't follow it so I ended up redoing the number of rows per box myself and would recommend for anyone else who would want to try this pattern to do the same thing.  It's just because the math seems a bit off but hey I could be very wrong.  Well I have plenty of knitting to get done and not a whole lot of time so I must sign off here.

Here's the website to the stylish squares blanket.  The teddy bear pattern should be linked in one of my previous blogs that feature the first teddy bear blanket I knitted.  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-stylish-square

Another Day To Worship Anyways..

So my husband got the dreaded email that we were both praying that he wouldn't get.  He got the email expressing the appreciation that had for my husband applying for them but they regretfully would not be moving forward with him.  At first I was super disappointed about everything that had just happened and then I was super angry because I felt that my husband deserved that position.   Then I just felt lost for the rest of the evening because I just felt like we both have been trying and trying to make our lives better for our family but every time we would get close to a  breakthrough it seemed like the door was slammed shut right in front of us.

All I could do for the entire evening was try to explain away the last couple of weeks and the letter but I know that I can't.  All I can do is believe that God has an even better position waiting for my husband and while we're waiting for that we will continue to try as hard as we can and praise God anyways.

Pastor was right when she said that God never keeps us in a comfortable place for too long but during our discomfort is when God can really move for us  So Lord please move in our favor.  We're waiting.  Patiently and willingly.

Another Day To Knit Away.

Well hello blog and how are you doing today?  This weekend sure has been eventful but it's been a good kind of eventful thank God.  Due to the fact that I have two blankets due very soon all I've been doing is knitting them so they can be blocked and ready to be sent off, but once those packages are complete I plan to knit up some sweaters.  Both for my son and one for a set that I'm finishing up for my sisterinlaw.  Well at least I'm going to try to get it done.

I know that I said that I was going to start sewing right about now and technically I did!  I just didn't start sewing what I thought I would be but that's okay because I plan to start some sweaters and once they are finished I'll get right to sewing.  I'm chomping down on pizza right now so once I'm finished I'll share two books that I purchased late last week because they are the books where I'm going to be getting the patterns from.

Due to the low battery on this computer

I can't write for very long but I did want to share some updates with you.  Due to the fact that I have two orders to make I will be doing A LOT of knitting for next week or so so I will be sure to keep the pictures coming for you.  Second update is that I'm finally going to be brave enough to try to knit up so sweaters for my babies so that will be fun to share with you as well.  I will be knitting from two different books when it comes to making the sweaters.  I can't remember the name of the other one at this time but I do know that the second book is made by leisure arts and the book is called " Knit hoodies for Kids" by Jeannine C. Laroche.  It'll be fun to try these different patterns so here we go!

A Beautiful but Bittersweet Day.

Today has been a pretty awesome yet saddening day for two reasons.  The first reason being that my love has flown up north for a second interview which is GREAT but sad because the family is making its final preparations before we say our final "see you laters".

This past week has been a ride let me tell you because I went from being heartbroken, to just shattered, to pure shock and disbelief.  Then I became furious then the whirlwind of emotions would make full circle again.

Well I can't talk long now because my hun is calling from up north.  Be Blessed.
