My Boys' First Hat & "Knee Guard" set!

Hellow readers and I pray that you all are having a great day.  I just wanted to take a few minutes to share a baby beanie that I finished for my son. I had done this pattern before for my cousins' son and thought that it would be a great idea to do one similar for my boy.  I got both patterns from  http://allicrafts.blogspot.com/2011/09/free-pattern-thick-and-thin-striped.html .

I adjusted the size accordingly so the hat would fit.

And as for the whole "knee guard" thing, I'm very aware that they are legwarmes but I had to change the name a little bit lol.  Baby boy isn't a fan of wearing pants and he is very hard on his knees so I had to make something that he wouldn't mind wearing during the day.

Well I have several blankets to knit and tons of scarves and head bands to finish so Be Blessed & Be Inspired!

What A Beautiful Morning!!

Hello all and happy Friday to you.  This very morning was a great one because I was able to find a new blog to follow by watching the Martha Stewart Show AND I was able to see a friend of mine from grade school feature on the show which was AWESOME!.  I felt proud telling my baby girl that the very pretty lady with the cool hair was mommys' friend from the 4th grade!  Isn't it amazing to sit back and realize how fast life can pass you by?  That fact alone helps me to take a step back from everything and to take a few seconds to be thankful for everything in my life.

THE INSPIRATION:  So while watching the first Martha Stewart Show I  saw the writer of the blog called Im momma hear me roor! Or at least I think it's the name of the blog but either way if you want to find out for sure then go check out all the blogs that I follow and you'll find her there, and her blog was a huge inspiration for me to get back so sewing.  My mommy helped me get started but I stopped right after my son was born but I think that I've waited long enough so I'm going to try to get back to the sewing adventures as soon as I drop off one of my friends orders on Wednesday.

What project am I going to get started on?  Well I need to finish a shirt that I've been wanting to make for myself for almost a year now and then, once I have gathered all the shirts that I need, I plan on making a dress from old shirts that was featured on the Marth Show!  I'll be sure to post an update on this blog with the website to that particular blog.  Well I need to finish knitting my sons blanket so I can share the finished piece to you, then I need to finish his hat for this weekend, and after the cooking and clean are done for the day I need to get to my Mary Kay work that needs to be done ASAP SO I must sign off here.  Thank you for reading and be sure to Be Blessed and Be Inspired!

UPDATE!!: Although I didn't get the link for the blog I did come by it on the martha stewart website where the link to the blog is also.  here you go - http://www.marthastewart.com/875751/upcycled-t-shirt-dress

My two new favorite things.

Hey there I just wanted to post a pic of my two favorite books at the moment because I did promise that I would share anything that I could that inspired me to try new things so here they are.  My mom got the crocheting book for me about a year ago and I just recently got the knitting book from my mother-in-law for my birthday:->  Both of these books were very affordable and the patterns are extremely easy to follow and as a matter of fact I think I remember paying a little over $6 on the QuickKnit book and it's something that I've been using  ALOT.

The  crochet book starts off to explain the very basics of learning how to crochet and ends with several  easy projects to complete.  I finished my husbands first blanket, thanks to this book, and I will be finishing up several wash cloths and a baby blanket thanks to this book so if you're trying to learn how to crochet then this is something you should try to find for yourself.    I'm all about  trying to find easy projects online but it's always great to have a hard copy of instructions trust me:->

As for the knitting book, it's a book written for intermediate knitters that wish to get knit extremely cute baby afghans.  There are a total of  6 different afghans pattern to try and the insturctions are pretty easy to follow as well.  Both of these books are my guide to getting shower gifts done praise God!  Well I just wanted to update you on what I've been reading and what all I've been up to, oh, and both of these books were purchased at Michaels but I'm more than sure you can find them online as well.

CuddleBug!

Hello there:->  I hope that your week was amazing and I hope that your weekend is proving to be the same.  I just wanted to share the second granny square blanket that I finished for little man and he, thankfully, loves it! I was inspired by nature that day which is why I used  the colors that I used, and fringes are now my new best friend because i LOVE adding them to whatever I can!

Before I sign off here, to those who have been asking m about my etsy account, I've decided to start up my very own website.  I know that it might be a little more difficult that way but I think it best for me to go that route  instead.  But please know that I am indeed taking orders so if there's something you want to order or ask me just hit me up on my blog or you can send me a message on FB.  I will be sure to keep you updated on everything that's going on with Blissful CAE:->  BE Blessed & BE Inspired!

Knee Guards!

SO I found this super cute and easy pattern on Allis' blog this week and so I HAD to try to make a pair for my son to see how they would come and and OMG they look so stinkin cute on him!  I wanted to make a head band to match it ASAP BUT I couldn't do that for the obvious reason that my son cannot and will not rock a head band so I'm making him a cute beanie to go with.

I don't have the picture up of the beanie yet because it's still under contstruction but I do have a pic of baby boy wearing his new gear.

The main reason why I decided to crochet a quick pair of "knee guards" (aka leg warmers) for baby boy is because he's just now starting to crawl and his knees are becoming irritated from crawling on the carpet.  Yes putting a pair of pants on him could take care of the irritated knees except for the fact that he's constantly taking his pants off SOOO I had to think of something a little more creative, and he thankfully doesn't mind them:->

Well I just wanted to take a couple of minutes to share with you todays' creative adveture for me.  I'll be back to share more updates on patterns that I've found and my future website for items that will be available to you:->  Be Blessed and Be Inspired!!

UPDATE: I completely forgot to include the website where I found this pattern so here it is.  I apologize!http://allicrafts.blogspot.com/2010/11/free-pattern-infant-leg-warmers.html

My first FAVORITE cowl:->

Good Tuesday to all and I hope that everything is going well for you.  Today has been pretty relaxing while watching the kids play and trying to finish up the last stitches on my cousins' cowl:-)  The blog that I got this pattern from is  http://crochetincolor.blogspot.com/2011/11/effortless-cowl.html pretty awesome because not only are the instructions extremely easy but the cowl works up rather quickly.  So depending on how fast you try to get this pattern finished you can have the finished product of this pattern within a couple of hours!

This pattern is by far one of my favorite patterns that I've tried and I'm having a lot of trouble realizing that I'm going to have to send it all the way to Washington BUT it's okay because I know that my cousin will take very good care of it:->

The second picture that I have in this blog is a picture of the very first jumbo bow head band that I finished making last night, and I must say that this pattern was pretty great as well.  The instructions were also fairly simple to follow and the finished product came out adorable!  http://bwalker8706.blogspot.com/2010/12/big-bow-headband-pattern.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+blogspot%2FxFeJ+%28Creative+Me%29  Check out this blog for more super cute patterns that are available for free!  If you're into making bows and flowers then this blog that I just posted is the blog for you!  Well I have a ton of more things to get done so I'll write more soon and Be Inspired!

A Stinky Hat for my Stinkers!

Well good Sunday to everyone and I hope that you all had a fabulous day today.  After getting home from the shower yesterday I decided that I should get started on a project that I had been wanting to do for a while.  A Skunk Earflap Hat for my son:->  I had seen several and had been trying to find a pattern for free but being that I could do no such thing I decided to try to make put it together without a pattern and I did, well for the most part anyways lol.

My mommy helped me put the actual streak on the hat itself since I had trouble doing so myself  so big shout out to my mom.  THANK YOU.  It's still not on exactly on point but mommy plans to help me fix that.  I really need a manikin head for my hats.  Does anyone know where I can get one??  That would make my hat making life a lot easier.  Well Here are some early stages pics:->
Here's the hat before the braids and ears and and the last pic is the pic of my Stinkers in his hat after the braides were put on.  The only thing that's left to do with this hat is to make and attach the ears and fix the streak and this hat will be my first animal hat:->   I'll be back with more fun projects so BE Inspired!

What an eventful day!

Praise God that today was another wonderful day that he has made!  Wow today was such a blessing to my family and I because we got to spend the afternoon celebrating the future arrival of the new addition to our family.  Not only was the shower fab but the atmosphere was filled with warmth and love.

Being that I have been trying to get in touch with my wonderfully creative side I decided that it would be pretty awesome to make baby a gift this time around and from what I heard it turned out to be a big hit!  Here's a big shout out to both Ali and Neanners blog because without both of you the two parts of my gift to the lil one would not have happened:-)

So the blanket that I decided to bless baby with was a very basic granny square that turned into a massive basic granny square.  The new born earflap hat was from http://neannersshop.blogspot.com/2010/10/ez-earflaps-pattern.html and the basic baby cap was from http://allicrafts.blogspot.com/2011/09/free-pattern-thick-and-thin-striped.html

I know that I thanked the both of you before on your page but seriously thank you again!  I have plenty of more projects on it's way so once I have a couple completed I will be sure to share them with you and where I found them.  Be Inspired!

On the grind.

Well hello there and how are you doing?  I'm doing pretty good at the moment.  Yesterday morning was the morning of trying to figure out how to put together a simple pair of cute baby booties, BUT I, for whatever silly reason, couldn't get anything done.   So I then decided to try some thing a little different and so here I am trying to make my first tote bag.  I found the pattern on lionbrand.com and I must say that the instructions are quite awesome and the project itself is turning out wonderfully.  I'm not finished yet but once I am done I will be sure to post some pics!  What projects do you have going on right now?

Blanket Mode.

Good day to all and thank you for checking out today's blog.  Being that there's only a few weeks left till my cousin's babyshower I have been on a mission to figure out what I wanted to make for her, so now that that's all figured out I'm now trying out different types of yarn.  So as of right now my two favorite brands are caron and Lion Brand.

Besides being wonderful brands I love how the products feel both while I'm working with the yarn and after the blocking has settled in.  Both yarns have this warmth and softness about them that kind of makes them irresistible, at least for me!  What are your favorite brands of yarn to use and why?

I still have a lot to work on with the boys' blankets and what not so I'll be sure to get back to you when I'm done.  Pics will follow!!
