Infant dress #2!

Hello readers and how are you doing today?  Well beingthat I about finished the blanket that I wanted to get done for a friends gift I wanted to go ahead and make a infant dress to go along with the blanket.  Once the dress is all done I want to go ahead and make a matching beanie with a bow or flower of some sort to give it that special finish and who knows I might even throw in another blanket if I'm in a good enough mood.

This week has had its rewards and hard times but it brings peace to my heart and mind to know that whatever goes on from here and now matter how hairy situations may get, God will always be on my side and I praise him for that.  Thank you Lord for continuing to be our everyday salvation.

UPDATE!  Well I just finished the rows on this dress so all I have to do left is take care of all the loose ends and add a couple of touches.  I think I'm going to do the bloomers for sure now so I'll be back to update you on thoughs.

My first Home Made Cake and Buttercream Icing!

Hello all I just wanted to share a recipe that I found online that turned out to be pretty amazing.  It all began when I decided to make a home made cake for my family because I was tired of depending on the cake box so I started looking for recipes online.  The search wasn't that bad and found a recipe that I wanted to try within 10 minutes.  And the best part of this recipe to me is the fact that I didn't have to go out and try to find cake flour because the recipe itself calls for regular all purpose flour!

SO with my babies help we made our first white cake and once the kids went to sleep I went ahead and made the icing.  I didn't go by any recipe except for  the one inside of my head.  I used confectioner sugar, vanilla and butter and added sugar and butter until the icing was thick and fluffy.

After adding some decorations and what not our cake not only came out looking decent, for our first try, but it tasted great.  Even my husband, who isn't a cake person at all, enjoyed dessert for the night!

I went ahead and try this recipe again and the cake turned out great but I didn't have enough sugar to make it as fluffy as I would have liked the the strawberry filling I did was a hit and Im sure my husband will be wanting another one soon!

Now onto crocheting!!  I'm currently working on a baby gift at the moment and will be talking about that in my next blog so I must get going to I can hop to it with the blanket.  Oh!!!  Here's the link to the cake recipe I tried.   http://allrecipes.com/recipe/simple-white-cake/

Updates are FINALLY HERE!
First off I would like to say sorry for not coming by here to write to you more often.  LIfe has been pretty hetic which has made it difficult for me to keep up with this blog and all my projects.

The updates I have for you are the two panels that I finished for my son and husbands' afghans and head wraps that have been ordered which is a total firs for me!  I don't have any pictures at the moment but once I'm able to get some quick pics done on my camera I will be able to upload them onto here.

Being that it's been getting warmer around here there isn't much need for scarves and hats at the moment so I've been trying to see what would be fun for the kids and I to do and I've come up with painting because it's something that we all love to do. Now although I'm not too good of an artist the kids are fantastic at it and they get a real kick out of creating different works of art so I'll be sure to put pictures of our arts and crafts once they ar finished.

My second project that I'll be working on are different art pieces and interior decor for our home which will be pretty enteresting.  Well I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as I can and thank you for being so pacient with me.  Be Blessed & Be Inspired!

A panel # 1 for the husband.

Well good morning to you!  Today is going to be a great day today because God is good and I know that everything is going to continue to work out just the way that it's supposed to.

Panel #1 for my husbands fathers day gift was started last night and so far it's looking pretty good.  I'm working on stitch #58 from the 99 knitting stitches book that I'm using for my other afghans.  Pictures can't be taken at the moment but once I can get them done and uploaded for this blog I'll be sure to o so.

This will be completly off topic as well but I'm not going to post this blog and turn around just to make another blog so here we go.  I've been on a cake cones adventure with my family and I learned a couple of valuable facts.
#1 It's better to bake the white cake by itself then once it's done then add the sprinkles to the cake when adding the frosting
#2  My chocolate recipe rocks
#3 The husband that said that he didn't like cake pops or cake cones actually enjoyed my choclate recipe which means that flavor is no longer safe from him:->
#4 Baby girl loves to be in the process of making them
#5 Last but not least never be too afraid to step out of the box and try something different with the recipe

And speaking of recipes I made a lemonade pie last night for the second time, but a different recipe, and it came out great. Here's the link to the recipe that I used yesterdayhttp://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/neelys/frozen-lemonade-pie-recipe/index.html .  The only differences between the two recipes that I've used in the past is that one recipe calls you to use vanilla pudding and the other recipe calls for you to use condenced milk.  And when it comes to color I decided to add in some food color so that the pie would come out a pink for the girls:->  When baby boy gets older I might use a different color to cater to him:->

UPDATE!! Here's a pic of the first panel that I'm working on for my husbands blanket.  He specifically asked me if I could knit him a panel with anchors on it, being that the symbol has such a great meaning to him, so here it is!  I still have a long ways to go but it's looking pretty good so far.
Well I have a lot of knitting, cleaning and cooking to do so Be Blessed & Be Inspired!
