Happy Near Years to all!! Awesome links to awesome sales!

Well hello there and Happy New years to all who will read this.  This past year has been both amazing and challenging but I can say that there is nothing that I would have liked to do differently because through all the tings that came my way, whether if it were good or bad, I was able to learn how to better myself and my actions so I praise God for that.

Now onto projects that are on it's way!  This is a pic of the next blanket that I'm working on at the moment.  I call this "Heaven and Earth" because of the fact that that it was the heavens and the earth that inspired me to use the colors here.  This WAS supposed to be for baby boy on the way(my cousins baby!) BUT lol my I've been persuaded into keeping this one for my baby boy and I'll just make another one.  Now what colors will inspire me the next time are unknown to me but I'm sure it'll be grand.  I used a very basic granny square and continued on from there.

One of the many reasons as to why I like using the granny square is because it's such a versatile stitch that can be used and transformed into so many different things.  Examples being, granny square blanket with many squares, granny square blanket with very few or one big square, wash rags, hand bags, pillows, coasters and more!  No one can go wrong with making something with a granny square!

The last pic that I have here is a pic of the next hat that I finished:->  I found it on a caron website that I will post shortly and I plan on putting it on my etsy store online so hopefully I'll do well with that! http://www.caron.com/vickiehowell/patterns/urban_jungle/urban_jungle.html  $10.  Is the going price for this right now but I'll have to see how that goes.

Well my lovelies I just wanted to update ya'll on what's going on and my latest finds. OMG  If you're a girl on the look for a new deal check these out! Hurry up and try to get something cute for buy one and get the second free!  I did some shopping with the husband so woohoo! Here's forever21 website where you can get some bombastic deals http://www.forever21.com/Product/Category.aspx?br=f21&category=Promo_BOGO

AND my second fave pacsun http://shop.pacsun.com/search/Womens-Blue-Dot-ALL-Sale/control/show/200/index.search?ICID=0003501

AND last but certainly NOT least Tillys:->  I love me some Tillys lol

Here are some updates:Mohawk Ear Flap, baby love's purse and my granny square christmas gift.

Well hellow again and here's a belated Merry Christams to you!  I hope that you all had a favulous time with friends and family and I pray that you all have a blessed and fun New Years!

I have some fun pics of the Christmas presents that I was able to do for my family so I hope that you enjoy them. The first pick that I'm sharing with you is the purse that I made for baby love.  The pattern itself was pretty easy to follow, I just messed up with the count so the bag came out a little wierd but once I'm able to get to this pattern again I know that I'll be sure to get everything done correctly. I'm not sure if you'll be able to click on the link that I'm about to share with you but if all fails just copy and paste and the website will take you directly to the blog where I was able to find this pattern. http://www.tangledhappy.com/2011/04/spring-inspired-boutique-bags.html Now when it comes to the flower that is attached to the purse I found the pattern on a different webiste.  I don't have the website on hand but once I'm able to get a hold of my laptop I'll be sure to update this blog

The next picture that I'm sharing with you is the pic of the mo hawk hat that my daughter was wearing in one of my earlier blogs.  Now when it came to this one I found a basic adult ear flap hat pattern that I liked and once I was done with the hat I made the mow hawk part separately.  Here is one of the links that I looked at to get the hat the I got. http://www.caron.com/projects/ss_party/sspar_mohawk_hat.html  I tried to make the size indicated on the pattern for my husband but it was too small so I had to start over again, which I didn't mind.  Surprisingly my husband really enjoyed his hat and both him and his brother are requesting another creation!

The last pic I wanted to share with you is the granny squares I'm working on to making my Christmas/Birthday gift for myself.  http://tipnut.com/granny-squares/  I used a very basic granny square pattern but I found this fun website to go to so you can try to look up different types of granny squares for whatever project that you may want to work on.

For now I'm on a mission to try to find different projects to work on the internet but I'm saving up money to buy a book because there are too many different people making it difficult to share different patterns.  Now I can understand someone not wanting other people to copy and paste the pattern itself and take it as their own but I don't understand creators of certain patterns not wanting other people to take pictures of their finished product PERIOD.  Getting permission is very understandable but not at all permission or not??  If that's the case and the creator doesn't want people to profit or reproduce the actual item, then why post the actual pattern out in the first place????  Keep your treasure a secret lol.  I had to do a little vent.  I'm all about protecting yourself but if you're not will to share then don't.  I won't be made at you.

Anywhoo I'm still on my search to finding some fun projects so once I do I'll be sure to share them with you.

What A Blessing:->

Events in life can be so unexpected but a great kind of unexpected:->  I'm happy to say that I have my first official order that I have to fill by tonight and I'm so excited because I didn't think that I would start my lil business up for a little while now, but the oppurtinity made itself known and I obviously wasn't going to let it get away,.  Which reminds me that the next purchase I need to make are blank recites..please forgive me if I spelled that incorrectly.

My question to you is what is your favorite project to do around this time of the year?  You must obviously know mine by now so what is yours?

Sweet Pea's First Purse

Despite the craziness caused by the loud screams, random blankets spread all over the living room and stairs, random fights between the girls, a teething 5 month old and a cat that just began her two week journey of being in heat(Yay!!..OBVIOUS sarcasm there), I'm on my way to finishing up  Sweet Pea's first purse.  It isn't going to be perfect but I'm proud of the fact that I tried the pattern in the first place.

Once I've finished it, which won't be for a little while, there will be pictures of both the pretty parts and the ugly parts that need to be corrected lol.  The pattern itself is perfect so don't fret. http://www.tangledhappy.com/2010/11/granny-stripe-boutique-bag.html?showComment=1324508379022#c3465096315499796180  This is the website where I found the cute pattern so be sure to check out her blog because she has fantastic projects to get your hands on.

Granny Squares.

After two years of crocheting and knitting I am finally able to master the basic granny square!!  These squares are going towards a project that I'm doing for the kids so once it's all done I'll be sure to share the finished product.  I'm currently working on a purse for Ariah, being that she keeps trying to take mine, so hopefully she'll love it this Christmas:->
.
When it comes to my sons sweater, I didn't have enough yarn so that project will have to wait for another week or so but I'll be sure to post picks of that finished product as well.  What kind of square is your favorite square to knit/crochet?

Sorry I couldn't ge this to you sooner.

Well I finished my first adult size cowl so I hope that you like.  Due to a small emergency that  went down yesterday I wasn't able to take the time that I usually would take to come up with my own design for my cowl but instead used a very basic shell stitch.:->  Here are some pics of the ones that I have done.

I just want to take the time out to thank everyone for the great feedback that I've been receiving and because of you all giving me the confidence that I need I am in the process of developing my own shop!  I know that there are a lot of details that go into opening my own lil business but I'm so ready to take that next step because I know that I can do anything that I wish to do as long as I have my mind set on it.  Once everything is up and running I'll be sure to let you know so you can check everything out.  I went on youtube.com to find out how to use the shell stitch so hopefully, if anyone needs the help, that will be of some kind of help!

UPDATE!!!!: The link that is pasted here is the link to the youtube video where I learned how to do the shell stitch.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20727GoE3R0

Good Sunday!

Well hello there how are you doing?  I'm doing pretty good myself because I just finished shopping for Christmas and I'm about to attempt to make mysecond project without following a pattern.  When I first started crocheting and knitting I was scared, for obvious reasons, to try to make something without a pattern because I didn't know what I was doing.  But now that I've been doing this for a little while now I figure it's time for me to try to start to venture out to express myself more in my work than mirroring what others do.  I'll be using a basic stitch  but i'll be deciding what I'll be making soon enough.  I have a week left to get all my knitting and crocheting done and I still have a lot to do AND I still have a ton of blocking to do so please wish me luck.  Thankfully the girls matching hats and scarves are done so I just have my sons scarf and hat, my husbands scarf and hat and my moms scarf and hat.  Oh and my present to myself, which will most likely have to wait.

Picks are to follow as soon as I can get them up:-)

My babies first cowl:->( I hope I spelled that right!)

Well I just wanted to show you the first cowl that I made for my baby girl:-)  I was really nervous about making it but it turned out great.  She thinks that this particular project is for her cousin but little does she know that she'll be getting this one for Christmas!!  She's all about accessories right now so I know she'll just LOVE this.:->  I got the stitch itself from youtube and went from there. :->  I can't write too much now because the baby is calling me but I hope your day was wonderful and I'll be back with more fun projects that I finished.

Psalms:4-5

"4)I sough the Lord, and he answerwed me; he delivered me from all my fears.
5)Those who look to him are radiant, their faces are nevered covered with shame."

I really needed to hear that today because there is so much going on and sometimes it's as though there is nothing that's able to keep me from breaking down but God's word.  HE is the number one being that's been able to keep us a float and I am very thankful to him.

As I wait to hear where our future willtake us I am going to remind myself of this verse so I will constantly be reminded to keep my eyes on my heavenly father because he hasn't forgotten me now and he won't forget me in the future.  Thank you Lord for your promises.

Yes!

So hello to you again on this blessed day that God has given us!  Being that I plan on making most of my Christmas gifts this year here's another present that I finished for someone who is very dear to me.  At first I tried looking for a pattern that I liked but I just thought of the person for my inspiration and came up with a pattern of my very own!!!  Thank you Jesus:->  Hope ya'll like!!

I have so many ideas for many different patterns and I have no intention on letting these ideas slip away..now all I have to do is find out how to get them patented...  I'll write more once I'm on a different computer.

Butterfly Kisses!!!

So here I am again on the crocheting mission to get all of our Christmas gifts ready for this year's Christmas Season and I was able to bust out another hat that I made for my daughter:-)  It was orginally supposed to be for my oldest but she wanted me to give this one to her younger sister so it looks like I'll be making another one today!

Oh my goodness I have to make a huge shout out to Valerie, who has a blog on blog spot entitled "ValliesKids", because she was sweet enough to post this very pattern on her blog for FREE thank you so much because this pattern is not only super cute but it's very easy and quick to make and have ready!

Happy December 12 everyone for another hat has been crocheted!

Hello all!  I hope everyone had a great weekend and I hope that you all continue to have a fabulous week to follow.  I spent my time celebrating my birthday with my beautiful babies, husband and family and I'm thankful that the weekend turned out to be a relaxing success.

After having to start over a couple of times I finally was able to finish my husbands first hat created by yours truely:-)  The mom helped me sew the mohawk on and she ,thankfully, plans on teaching me how to sew it on myself for the next one I'm finishing up for my son.  My husband and our boy are going to be rocking matching hats this Christmas season:-)  Her's a pic of my baby girl posing for me:>

Now this pattern isn't my own butI did find it on the internet somewhere.. Sorry that I forgot but I will post the website so you can check it out.  I tweeked the pattern itself to my liking and this is how it turned out!!  Trimming will be done to the tassels once my husband is able to try it on so he can decide how long or short he wishes the tassels to be.  More pics of the finished product are to follow!

Slouchy Hat "TRILE" #2!

Hello there once again and yes I know that I spelled trial wrong the first time around.  It was late last night and truth be told I was doing everything I could to keep it together and to keep myself from falling asleep.  Okay!  So I wanted to share some pics Of my final result of my slouchy hat.

The main things that I learned this evening while working on this hat were, 1) When using a bigger crochet needle I didn't need to add on the extra rows because the stitches themselves are larger and 2) being patient is the key!
Here's the finished Product.  It isn't perfect but it's mine!

Good Morning to all!

Well being that it's a brand new day and Christmas being just around the corner I have a buys busy day ahead of me.  Making Christmas gifts myself is something that's being looked into this year because 1)Because it'll be something different to try this year instead and 2)I think the gifts will be a little more special.  So I'll be sure to share with you what I found and what will be tried soon.  As of now I'm working on  mowhawk earflap hat for my husband so I'll be posting pictures of my progress.

Please remember that the patterns that I show on my blog as of now are not my own but I one day will be making my own patterns so I can share them with people who are willing to learn how to knit/crochet.  Well this is just a short blog to let you know that work is being done and pics of progress will be posted soon:->

If anyone knows of any free patterns feel free to share and I'll continue to do the same.  It's awesome to go and buy patterns but it's AWESOME when people are willing to share their treasures for free, especially for those who don't have the extra 5 bucks to spare for a pattern.

Slouchy Hat trile #1

So I started this hat earlier in the day but due to having to chase around my kids, cook dinner and other miscellaneous activities around the house I just barely finished my first slouchy hat and I am so glad that it actually came out looking decent.  After this first round I decided that the hook for the body of the hat should be a bigger hook, the pattern called for a j/10-6.000mm I believe, and I will add more rows that  i work even to make it even more slouchy than it came out today.

I found this fun pattern on the Knots and Loops and Oruaka(I think I spelled that right)  Make sure to check out their blog!
Please don't pay any attention to the buttons because I was just practicing with those and excuse my naked face!

One of my first Hats!

I'll be sure to post my very fist hat so you can see how it came out but this one here is the same exact replica of the previous hats that I've made and I found the Pattern at "Neanners Shop" which is a blog that I subscribed to recently.  If you haven't checked her blog out make sure to do so because she has so many different fun projects to try out and especially if you're a beginner!

Now when talking about this hat the only thing that I need to add to it are the tassels and I have to because my daughter is crazy for them!

UPDATE:  http://neannersshop.blogspot.com/2010/10/ez-earflaps-pattern.html this link is the link to the website where I found the earplap and flower pattern.  Please check out their blog and try one of their projects:->

Well I'm back.

I promised that I would start posting some pics up of my work so here they are.  The first pic that I wanted to post is of a blanket that I did for my husband a couple of months ago.  It was done with the very basic stitches, sc and double crochet, and I wouldn't have done it without my Auntie so thank you very much Auntie!  She gave me the pattern that she got from her knitting book so yay!  I must say that when I first started knitting I thought that it would be pretty much impossible but it was actually pretty fun:->

Well Hello

Well I wanted to start this blog to keep record of all my new crochet and knitting projects because I thought that it would be pretty exciting to keep record as to how much my work has improved.  I had some interest in knitting and crocheting but my passion for it didn't become what it is today till I had my daughter and now that I have my three beautiful kids I have MORE of a reason to make them things that they can enjoy.  I'll be posting pictures soon to show you my first two hats:->
